The MIDASUG is to implement a uniform approach to reporting North American relay misoperations and other related reliability data.
To accomplish its purpose, the MIDASUG performs the following activities:
- Reviews and recommends new misoperation and protection system data that should be subject to mandatory collection by NERC.
- Reviews additions and changes to the MIDAS Data Reporting Instructions.
- Analyzes, assesses, and reports on trends and risks to the reliability of the North American Bulk Electric System due to relay misoperations.
